Main study options currently on offer:

Singing, Historical Keyboard Instruments (Harpsichord, Clavichord, Organ, Fortepiano), Thorough bass, Chamber music, Violin/Viola, Violoncello, Viola da Gamba, Lute/Theorbo/Guitar, Oboe, Bassoon/Dulcian, Traverse Flute, Clarinet, Horn, Recorder, Cornett, Trombone, Trumpet, Medieval and Renaissance instruments, and - starting from Summer Semester 2012 - BA Barockorchester.

Secondary subjects taken alongside the main study include: 

Improvisation, Thorough bass, Harmony and counterpoint, Analysis, Ear training, Historical performance practice (sources, instruments, notations etc.), Historical dance, Tuning systems, Music history, Musicology (lectures, seminars and writing projects), Pedagogy for music teachers, Movement and acting (for singers). These studies are hugely enhanced through the additional intensive training in ensemble performance which forms the core of the work done together with other students, both in the regular course of teaching as well as in numerous special projects. A baroque orchestra, consorts, vocal groups and chamber ensembles of every conceivable composition are central to the teaching programme of the Institut.
