We take care of each other!

In order to be able to work together at our conservatory, it is important to follow the following protective measures:

The rooms of the conservatory are currently not open to the public. Only registered University members can enter them for emergency practice or for absolutely necessary lessons. Only the entrance at the central office is open. Opening hours: Mondays to Friday 09.00 to 21.00, Saturdays/Sundays 09.00 to 17.00

Hand hygiene

Hands must be thoroughly washed or disinfected before accessing classrooms and over-rooms. Hand disinfectants are available at the central office, for example.

Washing: Lather wet hands with soap (30 sec), rinse thoroughly, dry

Disinfection: Rub dry hands with a hand disinfectant (moisten completely), observe the exposure time (at least 30 sec) and then apply skin protection product.

Thorough hand washing by everyone before entering the classroom is still the greatest protection against smear infections.

Maintenance of modern keyboard instruments

  • ventilate regularly
  • After playing repeat cleaning of keys and all parts of the instrument touched at play with a moistened cloth
  • Open window and door for ventilation
  • wipe all the door and window handles, switches and objects with the existing surface disinfectant

Maintenance of historical keyboard instruments/organs

  • Before playing wash or disinfect your hands very thoroughly with soap
  • rub buttons with dry cotton towel (e.g. fabric handkerchief or very light dish towel)
  • When playing If possible wear mouth-nassive protection
  • ventilate regularly
  • After playing repeat cleaning of keys and all parts of the instrument touched at play with a cloth
  • Open window and door for ventilation
  • wipe all the door and window handles, switches and objects with the existing surface disinfectant

Historical keyboard instruments may only be tuned by the lecturers or assistants for historical keyboard instruments registered for the day.
Exception: Mood with household customary disposable gloves and mouth-nose protection.

Masking obligation

In general, masks are compulsory in all shops in Baden-Württemberg and on public transport.

Those who do not yet have a mouthguard can buy one at the central office for a donation.

Questions and answers about mouth and nose protection

Distance rules

The distance between two persons should be at least 2 metres (for wind players and singers at least 3-5 metres). In the classrooms there is an appropriately long staff for clarification. If the distance is maintained, it is not necessary to wear masks.

The medium-sized rooms are equipped with mobile plexiglass walls as an additional hygiene measure.

When visiting the toilet, please make sure that the entire toilet area is free. The doors of the anterooms to the toilets will be permanently open in order to avoid door contact after washing hands. If a person is already in the toilet, wait BEFORE the toilet in the marked waiting area.

Masks must be worn at distances between 1 m and 1.5 m. Distances below 1 m are to be avoided under all circumstances. Meetings of more than five people in the university building are prohibited.

Sneezing or coughing

Sneezing or coughing into the crook of your arm or into a handkerchief reduces the spread of bacteria and viruses. The handkerchief must be disposed of immediately. The hands must be washed or disinfected immediately afterwards (see above).

Airing

Classrooms and offices must be adequately ventilated. In order to reduce the number of germs in closed rooms, it is strongly recommended to air the rooms regularly throughout the day (shock ventilation). The intensity of the air exchange with free ventilation should be such that draughts are avoided.

Classrooms must be well ventilated for at least 15-20 minutes after each exercise (exception: concert hall). If your practice or teaching time is over or you want to leave the university, please open the windows and doors for ventilation.

In view of the special spatial requirements for artistic practice, the university management requests that digitally feasible courses and lessons be held in digital form by the end of the semester.
